Owen Wall — CAD services and rapid prototyping

Visualise designs and colourways   Using Rapid Prototyping means you can 'print' in 3-D, all you need is a solid model made on suitable 3-D software.

CAD Modelling

I can make these models to your own specification, this can be used for photo like renderings, so you can get an idea of what a piece will look like and use it for presentations. The model can also be used to create a 3-D Print out.

Rapid Prototyping Service

I have access to a variety of Rapid Prototyping methods, usually Z-corp but discuss other options with me, and can help you get the CAD model Rapid prototyped. Alternatively If you can build your own models and export as '.stl' files I can get the Rapid Prototype made at very competitive rates. Email or phone for quotes.

Moulding from Prototypes

I have experience of taking working Ceramic and Glass moulds off of rapid prototyped models and would be happy to provide this service for you too.

Visualise

Use the CAD model to create photo like images of your final pieces; experiment quickly with colour combinations, textures and place objects in different environments

Make Repeatable Sections

Rapid Prototyping is not cheap at the moment, so saving money can be achieved by making small sections for 3-D printing from which a larger whole piece can be made in your desired material. through casting multiples

Intricate details

Rapid Prototyping allows for very detailed and precise work to be made. Depending on the type of printer that you wish to use, incredibly delicate marks can be made and then repeated easily. Sections can be built with measured 'release'angles to allow fordrop out moulds and ensure that no undercuts are present

Rapid Prototyping the negative mould

The model printed doesn't have to be positive: printing out the negative mould is a straight forward process. A quick rubber mould can bemade straight off of the rapid prototyped negative and then used to cast multiple moulds. The negative mould pictured provided the rubber mould for the Ramekins featured in the Ceramics section ofthis web site. The multiple Jolley moulds can be made straight from such a rubber version

Keep costs down with a hollow mould

I know all of the tricks to keeping the cost of rapid prototyped models down. Hollowing them out is essential, and something that I am happy to do
